Alison Gannett is a World Champion Big Mountain FreeSkier, founder of The Save Our Snow Foundation, and founder KEEN Rippin Chix Steep Skiing Camps and Rippin Chix Mountain Bike Camps. As an accomplished ski mountaineer and Environmental Scientist, she utilizes her first descents and ski expeditions worldwide - India, Pakistan, Bolivia, Argentina, Bhutan, South Africa, Europe and North America, to photo document glacial recession - glaciers that she first skied in 1995-2002 have now disappeared forever. In 2010, Ski Magazine named her "Ski Hero of the Year", while Outside magazine named her "Green All-Star of the Year", next to Leonardo DiCaprio and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Recently National Geographic named her a Woman Adventurer of the Year. Powder Magazine dubbed her 48 in Best Skiers of All Time and Ski Diva of 2014.
Alison has dedicated her life to making the world a better place, and has spent over half her life working on solutions to climate change. Alison travels as a keynote speak, entertaining and inspiring ski enthusiats with her Global Cooling Ski Adventure Show, showcasing epic adventures, shower curtain lines, and drastic glacial recession while also demonstrating simple everyday ways to save our snow and our water for future generations. Beyond her keynote speaking, she has founded four non-profits to fight climate change. She enjoys not only working with businesses and her sponsors in ever improvable world of sustainability, but also consults and runs workshops on how to save money while becoming more green. Her favorite topic for companies? "Be Green, Save Green".
A big believer of walking the talk, she started an experiment in calculating and reducing her carbon footprint in 2002. Surprising even herself, she has been able to reduce her footprint by over 50%, while saving money and improving quality of life.
Alison also thrives teaching other women and men confidence and skills in steep skiing and mountain biking. Osprey Packs is a proud partner of these Keen Rippin Chix Camps. She is currently planning exciting camps and expeditions around the world for 2015 and beyond.
