Description

Fill up the Osprey Talon 44 and head out the door for an overnight adventure or a long day hike. This pack has a peripheral aluminum frame that transfers the weight of the load evenly across the Airscape™ mesh backpanel to keep you cool on the trail. The BioStretch™ shoulder harness and hipbelt are easily adjustable for all-day comfort. InsideOut™ compression straps add stability when you’re negotiating rough terrain.

Inside this top-loading pack, you’ll find a sleeping bag compartment to keep your bag safely stowed. The removable lid has two zippered pockets to keep small items organized. You can stash more small gear in the two mesh side pockets and tuck an extra layer in the convenient mesh front panel. The hipbelt has two zippered pockets to secure a camera, phone or trail snacks. And there’s an external hydration sleeve for easy reservoir refills.

Also on the exterior, you’ll find Osprey’s Stow-On-The-Go™ trekking pole attachment system and a pair of ice tool attachment loops to hold your sticks and picks when you don’t need them in your hands.

Great for a long day hike and makes a really good rock climbing bag. Having the top strap under the top pouch allows to carr a rope easily

Comments about Osprey TALON 44:

I bought this bag for a 5d/4n hiker in Torres Del Pain in Chile. I didn't have to carry all my food with me as i did the assisted trail but i carried all my gear with me and the bag didn't disappoint.
I got rain, snow storm, really (i mean really) windy weather and tons of sun. The bag resisted all that. I didn't use a pack cover. I simply used bin bags and and put everything inside. It was perfect, lighter and better for the strong winds in get in the park.
There was a minor tear in the mesh of the side pockets but nothing on the seams.
The pack fitted me like a sweater. I am a weight conscious hiker and carry on the necessary things (a lot of first aid and medicine as i am a solo hiker) and the bag passed with flying colors.
Pricewise is a good choice for the quality you get.

Comments about Osprey TALON 44:

I use the backpack for travel and sometimes to go to the high mountain for a few days, the backpack is marvel , but the mesh pockets is not durable the first time I used, some stitches of the mesh broke, I thought is fine, but this last weekend, I put 2 protein bar in the hip pocket, and the mesh tear off ... :$.

    Comments about Osprey TALON 44:

I love this pack and use it regularly for travel (a passable carry-on item), backpacking, rock climbing excursions, and just about anything else in between. I love how lightweight and comfortable the pack is. The S/M fits my frame perfectly, and the shoulder straps and hip pads are thin (in a good way), breathable and ergonomic. I think I found my forever pack!

      Comments about Osprey TALON 44:

I have used this pack on a couple of 3 day hikes on the AT. Also packed it for a 5 day hike, but was rained out. This bag will hold all you can cram into it, however, it gets pretty uncomfortable on the higher range of weight (35-40 lbs.) I packed it out without water at 35 lbs., put in a few 15+ mile days in Tennessee and was more than happy to take this thing off. A full bladder will bulge the back panel when the pack is full. This is a great bag for lighter weights (>28lbs) and shorter days. It's an Opsrey so it is going to last.
