Description

Osprey’s Farpoint 40 is perfect for a weekend getaway in the city or the wilderness. The LightWire™ frame suspension transfers the load from harness to hipbelt. A mesh backpanel improves ventilation and the mesh on the harness and hipbelt reduces chafing under load. The entire suspension stows away under a zippered panel creating a sleek silhouette for transport.

Unzip the lockable sliders to access the main compartment. Inside there’s a mesh pocket for small items. Dual compression straps keep cargo from shifting during transit.

Outside you’ll find a zippered front panel slash pocket to keep you organized and sewn attachment points to lash on extra gear. No matter how much you choose to carry, StraightJacket™ compression straps stabilize the load. The padded top and side handles give you purchase when you need to toss the Farpoint 40 into the back of the bus.

    Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

Just right size for my needs for traveling,I always take it carry on,have not checked it traveling Asia on 6-8wk trips, I just pack what I need, don't purchase the beautiful junk much anymore, but made room for 1kg of black peppercorns from Malaysia on way home one trip.
Best travel pack I have ever owned, highly recommend this one for some one that travels with the essentials.

      Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

I bought this bag for a 4 month backpacking trip through SE Asia. I'm about a month in and so far this bag has been everything that I need it to be! My only downside is that it doesn't meet the carry-on size for AirAsia, a low-cost carrier in the region. It does fit carry-on size for Delta Airlines however so I can't really complain. I would recommend both this pack and Osprey products in general to everyone who needs a reliable pack.

        Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

I bought two Opsrey backpacks--the Farpoint 40 and the Ozone 46. My 13 year old son carried the Farpoint and I carried the Ozone for a three week trip through Italy. Both packs worked great for us, but we both preferred the Farpoint. It turns out we didn't need all the pockets on the Ozone. The Farpoint you can open like a suitcase and that is really helpful for packing. It seemed more compact for traveling but also seemed to hold as much stuff. The one think I liked better on the Ozone was the easy access iPad pocket.

        Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

I used this pack for the 6 month trip through central and south america, plus a bit of europe. I absolutely loved the pack in all ways except for the laptop/tablet pocket. While its great that it's padded, having it on the front is completely the wrong spot. When you fill your pack the front of the pack is curved, which puts pressure on the tablet. This mean i had a cracked screen as it bent slightly in the bag, making it unusable just 1 month into my trip, and 400 bucks down the drain :(

Apart from this, it's still a great pack, and if they fix this flaw I would definitely buy the next version. Until i'll use a different option.

          Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

Have traveled with backpacks for 40+ years but this is the best pack I've ever had. I did a lot of research before buying this, and it turned out to be perfect for the type of travel I do....international, fairly lengthy, and pretty active. I can only assume that whoever designed it has traveled extensively like I have.

I object to a whole bunch on unnecessary straps, zippers, or little pockets....I've even been known to cut showy, weighty things off brand new packs...but this pack hits just the right balance of features, security, and size/weight. The fact that it's carry-on compatible on most scheduled air carriers is just a bonus.
          A wonderful backpack.

          Comments about Osprey FARPOINT 40:

This bag is an all-round solid bag for folks who like to travel light. It is highly adjustable with an excellent hip belt for carrying all day long. It is lightweight, attractive, and flies under the radar as it is carry-on compatible.
I use one large and two medium packing cubes to keep my clothes organized inside, but am blown away by how much this bag fits.
