September 22, 2014

Osprey Packs, Inc., a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance, innovative packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, announced today that Ogden, Utah has been selected as the new location for the company’s U.S. distribution center. While Osprey company headquarters, which includes sales, customer service, marketing, finance, returns and other core functions, will remain in Cortez, Colorado, warehousing and shipping will occupy a new 108,000 square foot warehouse being built for Osprey in the Business Depot Ogden (BDO). Completion of the building along with retailer shipments from this new location is expected by mid–2015.

This relocation positions Osprey’s U.S. distribution center near the national rail network, allowing for improved supply chain efficiencies, smaller environmental impact as well as providing access to transportation lanes that support better service to the brand’s retailer base…

ActionHub.com – Featuring Atmos AG and SS15 – August 6, 2014

August 6, 2014

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Osprey is releasing a number of new accessories as well as updated and brand new packs. The most unique of which is the fourth generation of the Atmos AG (anti-gravity) and Aura AG pack series for men and women, respectively—with the original idea coming from Osprey’s owner and founder, Mike Pfotenhauer.

“When Mike began designing the Atmos AG, his vision was to create [a pack] that was entirely seamless,” said Gareth Martins, Osprey’s Director of Marketing, during Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. “When you put this pack on, it wants to wrap around you before you even connect the hipbelt. There’s a great deal of customization.”

In the creation process, the goal was to address the three most important factors for backpackers—comfort, load carry, and ventilation.
