Osprey Packs will offer hydration packs with two new reservoir models designed and manufacturered by Hydrapak. Osprey also will offer the reservoirs separately beginning with its Spring 2016 collection.

The Osprey Hydraulics by Hydrapak system includes two reservoir models – Hydraulics and Hydraulics LT.

The reservoirs feature a carry handle to allow easier bladder handling and filling, a pour shield to allow easy filling and emptying, a top-opening slider, the Hydrapak Blaster Bite Valve, a quick-connect hose and a hose & sternum strap magnet to manage the drinking hose…

Osprey Packs has hired Vince Mazzuca as senior marketing manager and Jennie Wong as sales and marketing coordinator.

Mazzuca will provide leadership to the marketing team, contributing to the development and execution of the brand’s marketing strategy. In addition to strategy, Mazzuca will lead consumer and trade events, media planning, sponsorships, promotions and sell-through. Prior to joining Osprey, Mazzuca served as marketing manager for Ruffwear and global marketing manager at Yakima Products.

Wong will oversee execution of all domestic sales meetings, trade shows, dealer visits and in-house presentations. Wong’s experience in the outdoor industry includes work with Royal Robbins in purchasing, customer service and marketing.

BicycleRetailer.com – Osprey Expands Colorado Headquarters, Prepares Utah Distribution Center – February 13, 2015

Osprey Packs, Inc.. plans to expand its headquarters in Cortez, Colo., as the company also is completing its new distribution center in Ogden, Utah, which will open in mid-April with a staff of 23.

The expanded headquarters in Cortez, in Southwestern Colorado, will open the second half of this year. The company will add 14 new positions at headquarters this year, including increases to the sales, marketing, quality & returns and IT departments. Additionally, Mike Pfotenhauer and Diane Wren, the founders of Osprey Packs, recently relocated back to Cortez from California.

“This is an exciting time for Osprey,” said Tom Barney, the CEO of Osprey Packs. “We just concluded our 40th anniversary year where we enjoyed double-digit sales growth and started several important initiatives, including expanding to our new distribution facility in Ogden and a further commitment to Cortez as our world headquarters. 2015 will surely be a year of opportunity and growth for the brand. Opening a new distribution center allows us to better serve our customers but our primary home remains in Southwest Colorado around our Cortez main offices.”

Osprey Packs, Inc., is making four cash grants through IMBA’s “Let’s Build Trails” program to support the growth of recreational mountain biking in the United States.

The grant recipients are the Central Illinois Trails Association; Team Dirt of Corvallis, Ore.; the South Alabama Mountain Bike Association; and the Southern Kettle Moraine Chapter of IMBA, based in Whitewater, Wisc.

“It is very rewarding to work with IMBA in providing trail grants to grass roots mountain bike organizations who are working hard to maintain and improve recreational cycling opportunities in their communities,” said Jeff Fox, bike marketing manager for Osprey.

BicycleRetailer.com – Osprey Plans Move of Distribution Warehouse to Utah – September 22, 2014

Osprey Packs will relocate its U.S. distribution warehouse from Cortez, Colorado, to Ogden, Utah. The company said the move addresses space constraints it’s faced in recent years, requiring it to patch together several smaller facilities in Cortez.

It also positions the distribution center near the national rail network, improving supply chain efficiencies, reducing its environmental impact and providing access to transportation lanes that support better service to the brand’s retail base.

The new 108,000-square-foot warehouse is being built in the Business Depot Ogden (BDO). Completion of the building along with retailer shipments from this new location is expected by mid 2015…

Osprey Packs Inc. has brought rep agency Motion Representation onto its bike market sales team for the Midwest.

Founded in 2012 by industry veteran Dennis Porter, Motion seeks coverage for brands in a territory that spans from Wisconsin to Iowa, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Nebraska and Missouri. With three reps on the ground—Porter, Nick Grigsby and Pat O’Neill—Motion represents such bike brands as Pivot Cycles, NiteRider, Louis Garneau, Gu and Motorex.

“Dennis is a true professional who brings years of experience in the bike channel to the table,” said Patrick Piller, Osprey’s bike sales manager.

Osprey Packs’ distribution operations will move from Colorado to Utah’s Wasatch Front next year, the company announced Tuesday. While Osprey’s company headquarters — which includes sales, customer service, marketing, finance, quality assurance, returns and other core functions — will remain in Cortez, Colorado, warehousing and shipping will relocate to Utah by mid–2015.

Osprey is considering several locations on the Wasatch Front and plans to make its final decision this summer.

The move will position Osprey’s U.S. distribution center near the national rail network, which will allow the company to provide better service to its retailer base and significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint, the company stated. Osprey currently receives and distributes by truck…
