Passports With Purpose: Win an Osprey Farpoint 40 Backpack

Today is the official launch for Passports with Purpose! Passports with Purpose is an annual Travel Bloggers’ fundraiser. In 2011, they raised $90,000, over 10% more than their original goal of $80,000, to build two school libraries in rural Zambia. In past years, they built a village in India, a school in rural Cambodia, and funded projects for Heifer International. In 2012, they’ve set their sights even higher, with a goal to raise $100,000 to build five community wells in Haiti with Water.org.

The wonderful people over at Osprey has offered to help Passports With Purpose by donating a Farpoint 40 backpack, a $149 value. I have purchased an Osprey backpack for my wife for our upcoming RTW adventure and couldn’t help but be impressed with the awesome quality of their bags. They are so sure of their product that they offer the All Mighty Guarantee which promises “Osprey will repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in our product – whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday. If we are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, we will happily replace it.”

The Farpoint 40 is a lightweight trekking pack that meets carry-on compliance requirements on most flights and converts from a handle bag to a backpack in a flash. This pack has duel front mesh pockets, great for water bottles or snacks. It also holds a large front zip pocket with padded laptop and tablet sleeve, a must for the digital nomad. The main compartment has internal compression straps for keeping gear secure. It also has a small front zip pocket for lose items. Best of all, it carries like a premium backcountry backpack, without compromising the features needed for travel convenience.
