TwentyNineInches.com – Featuring SS13 Raptor and Raven – September 28, 2012

September 28, 2012

Osprey has taken a look at the successful Raptor series of MTB hydration packs, refined, and expanded the features. Larger, zipped (yay!) hip belt pouches, a removable tool roll (excellent idea!), and a revised reservoir. Guitar Ted has thrashed his older version of the Raptor 10 and it has held up but could use a good washing. Hint, hint. 🙂 They also increased the flexibility in the pack so it can conform better to the riders back curve.

We look forward to getting him on a new version as soon as they come rolling into Osprey HQ. The Raptor 10 is a 610 Cu Inch/10 liter pack that weighs 1lb 6oz without the reservoir and is also available in the smaller Raptor 6 and larger Raptor 14. Gone is the Raptor 18 but there is now a Raven version of these packs designed for the lady riders. Different ergonomics and colors help them fit better and stand out from the crowd of men’s packs. Expect the same high quality that all Osprey packs exhibit. This is good stuff from a company that knows how to do it well.

PedalMag.com – Featuring SS13 Reservoir, Raptor, Raven and Hydraulics Cleaning Tablets – September 28, 2012

September 28, 2012

September 28, 2012 (Las Vegas, NV) – The fabulous Interbike bicycle tradeshow continued at the Sands Convention Centre in Las Vegas, with the newest cycling goodies for 2013 on display. Pedal was on site to seek out the most innovative and exciting bike offerings that will be available soon at your local shop… here’s our final show report with vids to follow. (…)

Redesigned for 2013, Osprey’s new reservoir is easier to handle when filling and loading into the pack with a new lightweight, low profile handle and dual-sided hose exit. The new 3/4-turn cap provides a quick and secure open/close, while the wide mouth opening provides easy fill and access for cleaning. The new, direct-welded hydrostatic plate keeps the reservoir close to the back and maintains a low and wide reservoir profile, while the mPE film provides the taste-free qualities of polyethylene with the added benefit of extra strength.

The premium line of Osprey’s mountain biking hydration packs, the Raptor series, is upgraded for 2013, being joined by the Raven women’s model, sized and tailored for a woman’s body. The Raptor and the Raven feature the airScape back panel, which provides cushioned comfort and breath-ability, and an updated BioStretch ventilated harness. Both packs have a full hip belt and have the new hydration sleeve design with direct access zip for fast loading. The LidLock clip quickly secures a helmet to the back of the pack, while the stretch mesh front pocket allows the rider to quickly stash extra gear. Both the Raptor and Raven packs are available in 14, 10 and 6 litre sizes, with three colour options for the Raptor and two for the Raven.

Also new in 2013 are the Osprey hydraulics Cleaning Tablets. These all-natural, biodegradable and chlorine-free cleaning tablets are designed to be used to clean any water container made of plastic, metal or other material.

September 25, 2012

This is one juicy pack. Osprey is known for offering a colorful selection of backpacks, heavy duty bundlers, and duffels to make your camping trip or backpack adventure as fresh as possible. Only with this brand can a guy pull off these saturated shades with names borrowed from candy, as Osprey knows how to shape the ideal form for the specified function of the bag so you don’t come off looking like a fashion plate on the trail.

The Axis follows suit as a moderate day pack that is perfect for the light hiker or the student that needs room for iPads and gym shoes alike. Shown above in Juicy Orange.
