UtahOutside.com – Featuring Hornet 32 – September 5th, 2011

The Osprey Hornet 32 weighs in at 1.25 pounds- super light indeed. This top loading pack features one large main compartment, two mesh side pockets with compression straps and a front stretch mesh pocket. The floating lid has a zippered storage area and a zippered mesh pocket on the underside. The pack also features gel pockets on the shoulder straps and two hip belt pockets that will fit anything from energy bars to point and shoot cameras. MomentumPlanet.com – Featuring Momentum 34 – September 7, 2011

October 24, 2011

I have been using this backpack for the past four months, putting it through international travel, bike and hiking excursions and daily commuting and shopping trips in rain, shine and snow. My medium/ large pack has been a burly companion that can tote up to 34-liters-worth of stuff and weighs 2.9 pounds (1.3 kilograms).

The pack comes with a “lidlock” strap on the front designed specifically to secure your bike helmet and still leave room for a lock in the front pouch. Organization is made easier by the many different storage areas, including one curved zip pouch on the upper front, two on the lower-front sides and two on the shoulder straps (one designed for a cell phone and one for keys). Cinching points on both sides are good for strapping on additional items. Inside the pack is one large extendable storage area and a large pocket for papers and other flat items, as well as some smaller mesh pockets for keys, pens, money, etc. A second padded storage area, located further to the back, fits a medium- sized laptop. I’ve used this backpack in heavy rainfall and the contents stayed dry, thanks to the waterproof rain cover that tucks away on the underside of the pack.

TheDaily.com – Featuring Manta 20 – October 3rd, 2011

October 21, 2011

Osprey is a big hitter among the backpacking and camping set, and this Manta 20 daypack is like the Ferrari of running backpacks with the comfort of a Cadillac. You’ll have to be economical when packing for work with this small bag, but with four separate pockets to house all your daily needs, you’ll have more than enough room. (Leave the iPad at the office, though.) The waist belt has easily accessible pockets (phone, sunglasses, energy gels) and there’s a clip on the back for a light, if you’re running home at night. What puts the Manta at the top of its class is a 3-liter water reservoir to keep you hydrated.
