DurangoHerald.com – Osprey Packs to Distribute from Northern Utah – September 23, 2014

September 23, 2014

Cortez-based Osprey Packs has chosen Ogden as the Utah city where it will move its U.S. distribution center.

Osprey made the announcement Monday. It was looking to move distribution to a transportation hub, and Ogden is just 40 miles north of Salt Lake City.

Osprey said in a news release that company headquarters – which includes sales, customer service, marketing, finance, returns and other core functions – will remain in Cortez. The company, which specializes in backpacks, daypacks and hydration packs, employs about 74 people locally.

Warehousing and shipping will move into a 108,000-square-foot building in Business Depot Ogden, which is being constructed and is expected to be ready by mid-2015, Osprey said in the release…

SingleTrackWorld.com – Featuring SS15 Zealot, Syncro, Escapist and Moki – September 22, 2014

September 22, 2014

For 2015, Osprey has made a number of changes to several of their well-regarded (and often Singletrack Recommended) hydration packs…

Their first rad-specific pack, the Zealot is updated for 2015 with toned-down graphics (no more exploded frame drawing), a tidied exterior, and improved tool roll…

A revised Syncro range will make the short ride crowd happy, shedding roughly 1/3 of previous models’ weight.  Now-ambidextrous hosing could help to bring the 27% of Singletrackworld readers who prefer left-shoulder drinking into the fold…

Popular both for hut-to-hut trips and for commuting, Osprey’s Escapist has also been updated.  Again sleeker than its predecessors, the 18L, 25L, and massive 32L packs had us plotting our next adventure right there on the show floor…

And finally, one for the young-uns.  The new Osprey Moki is a full-featured pack built especially for kids.  Allowing the offspring to carry their own food, drink, and accessories is never a bad idea…

Standard Examiner – Ogden – Pack Maker Moves Distribution HQ to Ogden – September 22, 2014

September 22, 2014

Osprey Packs, a manufacturer of high-performance outdoor and travel packs, said Monday it has chosen Ogden as the location for its U.S. distribution center.

Osprey’s company headquarters, which includes sales, customer service, marketing, finance, returns and other core functions, will remain in Cortez, Colorado, but warehousing and shipping will occupy a new 108,000-square foot warehouse being built for Osprey at Business Depot Ogden. Completion of the building along with retailer shipments from this new location is expected by mid–2015.

The distribution center location was chosen for close access to rail and truck shipping corridors suited for the company’s retail base. This move also addresses the space constraints Osprey has faced in recent years requiring the company to patch together several smaller facilities in Cortez.

SingleTracks.com – Featuring Moki, Zealot 15 and Verve 9 – September 19, 2014

September 19, 2014

Osprey had some cool looking packs for this year. I was really impressed with the kid packs. My son can now carry his own snacks and stuff!

The Moki  is a scaled version of the Viper line of packs. With a few pockets to carry snacks and a 1.5L bladder, there is plenty of space for your kid’s needs. The Zealot has been improved as well, with new vented straps, the Air Scape back panel, and a larger tool pouch.

For you ladies, the Verve 9 may be just the ticket. With a 3L bladder and enough room for a day trip, this bag is not just cut with a woman’s torso in mind, but width and strap sizing as well.

September 18, 2014

Osprey has added two childrens packs to its catalogue to ensure kids can take on the fluids required during long days in the saddle.

The Hydrojet and Moki packs both house a 1.5 litre bladder and though minimised, carry many of the features you’ll find on adult packs.

Interbike also saw the introduction of a much redesigned Syncro Series, now available with 3, 10 and 15 litre capacities and either 1.5 or 2.5 litre bladders.

The Zealot is offered in a singular 15L size this year – compared to the 10L and 16L sizes last year – after finding it to be the optimal in-between size for all-mountain riders…
