Active.com – Featuring Ozone Convertible Series – December 1, 2013

December 1, 2013

The Osprey Ozone Convertible Series has made active traveling easier for everyone—Osprey neatly combined a wheelable, lightweight suitcase with a backpack-carry option that also has an easily detachable, zip-off daypack. The suspension system can be fully removed for trips where you won’t need to carry the pack on your back. For the suitcase, you’ll get all the regular amenities like external pockets, padded carry handles and an extendable handle, but also an adjustable harness, a padded mesh back panel and a hip belt for when you want to sport a pack. The 15-liter daypack has padded shoulder straps and is laptop compatible.

OutdoorGearTV.com – Featuring Ozone Series – July 20, 2013

July 20, 2013

The Ozone series comes in 80 liter, 46 liter and 36 liter sizes, as well as a day pack and courier. Besides the color, right away the first thing I noticed was how extremely light-weight this piece of luggage is. It weighs in at only 4 lbs 15 oz, and still has quite a few great features. It’s easy to maneuver and has plenty of pockets to keep everything organized. The green color makes spotting your bag on the luggage carousel easy and I was really impressed at just how much this bag could hold.

Concerns: Traveling is tough on suitcases and nearly every piece of luggage I’ve owned has eventually been damaged. After the second time traveling with the Ozone it had a couple very small punctures and a small tear. I have concerns that this light-weight bag may not be able to handle the abuse. The Ozone series might be a better choice for carry-on, because you have more control over what happens to your luggage.

For a look at the pack’s features please watch the video.
