I recently purchased the Manta 36 AG and it came with this hydration bladder. I use it for day hikes and save my Atmos AG for treks and overnighters. It is a great hiking pack and i really enjoyed Osprey including this great hydration bladder but one problem with it is the quick detach feature. I love the idea of it and i want to like it I do. Not only for filling the bladder before a hike but i can hook my filter into it with a hose and the quick detach feature works great for that. The issue i have with it though is when in the bag if you lean against something or your gear pressed against the very sensitive button your hose comes unplugged and then there you are yet again taking off your pack to reinsert the hose so you can drink. I feel this could be easily solved with the button having more resistance? Or having an easy slide cover that goes on the hose to cover the button. Im thinking of rigging something up because I love my Osprey packs and all their features and do not want to use other products but I thought this could have been thought out a little better. Other than that it is a great bladder though, easy to use, easy to clean, well made material.

Have had to replace twice so far

The design of the bladder makes it easy to fill, but the plastic hangar is weak and I have had to replace it twice because it keeps breaking.

Comments about Osprey 2.5 LITER HYDRAULICS™ LT RESERVOIR:

I received a replacement Hydraulics Reservoir from one that came with a pack I purchased a couple years ago. The moment I took the new reservoir out of the box I thought to myself, "What the heck is this?" I've loved everything that I have ever used from Osprey until I gave this new Hydraulics LT Reservoir a try. It feels chintzy, but with all new things you have to give them a try before making an assumption. The reservoir is floppy and there is no support when sliding it into either of my packs. It feels like the material can tear easily, and I have no idea how long the plastic hanger will last. I've been thinking of taping the sides so it doesn't move while I'm active. I also have trouble opening the bite value without using two hands. The new design will be great for cleaning the inside, but that's about it. After one use I don't trust this product.

Comments about Osprey 2.5 LITER HYDRAULICS™ LT RESERVOIR:

So many bad reviews and no response from Osprey. Strange. I see many bad reviews about the hanging clip breaking. They must have redesigned it since then. There is no clip now just a hole for the webbing to go through. This should be unbreakable now.

So far I have not used this reservoir outside the house. I have filled it a few times to reduce the plastic taste. It seems to be pretty well made. It doesn't leak.

Comments about Osprey 2.5 LITER HYDRAULICS™ LT RESERVOIR:

I love Osprey products; I have five packs of varying sizes and uses. I used this product with a Stratos 32 and an Aether 70. In both instances, the quick connect disconnected repeated with normal loading, packing and hiking. I'll go back to my 1 liter bottles and return to the retailer. What a disappointment.

Comments about Osprey 2.5 LITER HYDRAULICS™ LT RESERVOIR:

I really like how easy it is to fill water using the slide. That said, if your bag doesn't have a pouch to take on some of the load of the reservoir and only has the loop to hold it up, it will break! I probably logged less than 30 miles of day hikes with the 2.5L that came with the Manta AG 36, and the plastic hanger already broke. That said, I'm going to keep using it without the hanger to see how necessary it is (maybe it's a weight distribution thing?).

I really like the bladder, it's light and the material seems to be durable.
However, the bite valve is a different story... It cracked all the way around within a week and now leaks whenever I use it.
They are sending me a new one and it should be here in a week or two.
Apparently this is a problem they have been having often, hopefully they'll come up with a better design soon!

Bought one of these when it first came out. After a 45 minute walk to a crag, it had leaked and soaked all my gear. Returned it and tried a second one. This leaked from the same spot (where the red handle is sealed to the bladder). I won't be trying a third time.

Not sure I like the new red LT Hydraulics bladders. Although they clean easier (if needed), the thin weak plastic hanger is poorly designed and/or built, as it snapped off relatively easily.

The changes to the new reservoirs are fantastic! Yes, it has a tight seal, but that is a good thing(less prone to leaks.) Plus, teaming up with HydraPak makes these dishwasher safe! The adjustable magnetic clip on the hose is also a nice improvement. I personally didn't find it difficult to figure out how to use, so maybe don't take other reviews too seriously. This is an amazing buy if you are in the market for a new lightweight reservoir!
