Kruger National Park Osprey’s Manta 25 Hydration Pack is ideal for daylong adventures in Kruger National Park, which covers over 7,500 square miles. Whether by foot or on a game-drive, hydration is essential in keeping up with your active safari itinerary. This lightweight pack provides enough space for your gear and a 3-liter reservoir, keeping you moving throughout the day.
The durable 40-liter shuttle bag from Osprey has an aluminum frame, high-impact plastic base and padded foam sidewalls, while its large polyurethane wheels tackle bumpy terrain. A zipper runs the length of the bag for side access, plus there’s a top pocket for small items, and a low-profile magazine pocket on the back panel. Measuring 23.5 x 15 x 11 inches, it weighs 5 pounds, 15 ounces.
The Osprey Metron has now been in use for about a month on my daily commutes. The bag has held up really well under the stresses of a full load. The load includes a MacBook Pro 15″, a camera, a notebook, bike tools and tubes, an extra pair of shoes, a jacket, and a host of other things. It regularly carries between 20 and 30 pounds, and does so effortlessly. My back is none the wiser about how much I have in the bag. It is super comfortable and incredibly well designed. The compartments make sense and are easy to learn. The computer is completely cushioned, and the helmet strap is brilliant. The attachment point for the blinky light is also well thought out; when riding, it is perfectly visible to the vehicles and other cyclists behind you. The bag market is quite competitive, but I think Osprey is well in the lead with the Metron.
When backpacking, comfort is king—and comfort often comes down to two things: weight and fit. And the Exos 34 wears the crown as one of the best packs on the market. The innovative trampoline back plays a big part in this regal distinction. It employs twin support poles that run on either side of the pack, creating a massive gap of air between the pack and your back. As a result the thing breathes better than a marathon runner, adds a bit of bounce to the overall feel, and won’t chaff if you happen to load the pack over the bag’s recommended capacity.

This pack is full of features, it is really well designed, and extremely tough. The fit is fantastic, it does not move around, even on the toughest singletrack.
What is common in all these pics? I am riding with the Osprey Raptor 10.
This is the best mountain bike hydration pack I have ever used. I mean seriously, I have a bag thing, and I was always searching for just the right pack. Who’s not looking for any new hydration packs? Me.
