Hi #ospreypacks fans! @rayzahab here to take over the feed for a few days. Join me and @stefanogregoretti on our Arctic expedition! Our team (Stefano, Spikey and myself!) headed into Saglek Fjord, Labrador after a helicopter drop. It was our first day experiencing the mix of deep snow, cold temperatures and wind. We had no idea what was about to happen, just a few miles after we started. After leaving Saglek Fjord, we made our way towards Nakvak Brook in the Torngats Mountains. Focused on covering as much ground as possible, we discovered the area has a very high polar bear risk. We made it safely to Inuit camp near treeline on the Labrador-Quebec border where the iconic Northern Lights put on a display. The brilliant green streaks raced across the Northern Quebec skies, which were a super clear, but cool -30C (-22F). | 📷: @rayzahab + Jon Golden

Hi Osprey fans! Thanks for following along for my takeover. This is the last post in my series. To see more of my adventures, give me a follow! - Brian As an ice climber, it was hard to eye these beautiful and remote lines, but climbing wasn't part of the plan for this trip. Doing some good reconnaissance for future missions though left us excited for trips in the future. So much of the personal value in adventure for me lies in the daydream-inducing sights of beautiful, #wild places. We'll certainly be back. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
Good morning Osprey fans! I'm back for the final day of my takeover! Setting off across South Branch Pond, our goal was to hike the 10-mile Travelers Loop. We felt light on our feet as we left our sleds back at camp, but the winds were biting and the mercury didn't get above zero this day. After encountering variable conditions on the initial climb off the lake, we broke out above treeline and didn't need much convincing that completing the loop wasn't smart or safe. Making good decisions 20+ miles from the road requires a bit of humility and acceptance of getting humbled by mother nature. The loop will always be there and we'll be back to try it again some day. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
Brian here, back for more on Day 2 of my takeover! We woke to six inches of fresh snow on the morning of day three. The nights reprieve from the wind meant the trees could collect the snow and make the perfect #winter wonderland. The clean air, the quiet, the solitude -- all the things I love about winter travel. For a few moments here and there, we forgot about the outside world, living in our little snow globe, carrying everything we needed to survive on our backs and in our sleds. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
Hi Osprey fans, Brian Threlkeld back for Day 2 of my takeover! Breaks on the trail were typically short. The single digit temps and the blowing snow weren't exactly luxurious, but throwing on a puffy jacket and inhaling some calories kept our engines fueled. On the skis for 5-6 hours and covering between 8-10 miles per day, we managed to complete our 70-mile circumnavigation of Baxter State Park in 8 days. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
More from Brian on Day 1 of his takeover! Much of the terrain we traveled over was part of Baxter State Park's perimeter road. The road is open to snowmobiles, but thankfully we didn't encounter any machines for the first four days of the trip. Instead we found quiet solitude on the western edges of the park. The only sounds we heard were the wind, a few birds, and the constant sound of our sleds behind us, as if we needed another reminder of the 80lb loads trailing us. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
Hi #OspreyPacks fans, Brian Threlkeld here! I’m excited to be taking over the Osprey account for a couple days to share an amazing 8-day, 70 mile trip around Baxter State Park in Maine last month! Follow @mountains62 for more adventures in Maine and beyond! Traveling from Russell Pond to Roaring Brook in Baxter State Park requires a mandatory bridgeless crossing of Wassataquoick Stream. Seven days into the trip and we didn't know if it would go until we got there. We were the first group to travel that section of the park for the winter. It could have been a trip-ender. We thankfully found a frozen waterway and made an uneventful crossing, thinking the hard part was over. Boy were we in for a surprise. What followed were close to two dozen drainages that we were forced to cross. Only 5-10 feet deep, but also 10-20 feet wide with open water at the bottom, these quickly became the biggest obstacles of the day and possibly the trip. Thanks to a solid effort by crew and our ability to work together, we navigated these challenges and made it safely into camp after a LONG day. | 📷: @mountains62 | #ospreypacks
"I have a passion for #adventure and my Osprey pack is always begging to get more time out in the #wilderness. There’s no better feeling than being deep into the #backcountry where you can have a break from the hustle and bustle of society. Don’t let anything hold you back from getting out there and spending some quality time with nature."
